We will crush Niger Delta militants, like we did to Boko Haram – Buhari
President Buhari, in a new statement released by Garba Shehu who is the spokesperson of the president, has vowed to deal with Niger Delta militants ruthlessly. President Buhari who said this stated that it is the duty of the government to maintain stability to promote investment, but the militants in the Niger Delta have been making it hard for the government to invite investor to the region. He therefore stressed that if militants do not cease their activities, military action will be fully set in motion.
Although the Niger Delta Avengers have recently agreed to a ceasefire and has appointed Chief Edwin Clark to lead the negotiation, however several mushroom groups have vowed to continue with the bombing. President Buhari as a result has also promised the militants that they will get the same treatment given to Boko Haram if they don’t stop their activities.
The president is currently attending the sixth Tokyo International Conference on African Development in Nairobi, Kenya.
